I think mot people think of Reflexology as a "type" of massage because they do not really KNOW what Reflexology is! For the second question, we have this going through the MT board now in GA, are they want ALL "manual type body" work to fall under massage as it will bring the board more money! BUT to be part of the national Reflexology Association you have to have about 300 hours of training just in Reflexology, I do not see many LMTs going out and getting that training!
I have a question concerning why is Reflexology called a foot massage? My second question is why does a person in some states have to be trained as a massage therapist to practice Reflexology?
Hi all,
I'm a licensed massage therapist from Miami, FL specializing in reflexology & foot massage.
Let me know if you have any questions on reflexology, i'll be more than happy to answer.
Best,
Raul Mosqueira

I have just joined your group and I wanted to introduce myself to you. I am Njideka Olatunde my modality is Reflexology. I have been a practitioner and certifying instructor for over 20 years. I look forward to supporting and working together in sharing information that can benefit and enhance professionally our modalities.
Hello, I'm looking for a good introduction course/CEs for reflexology in my area - Boston MA. I'm a LMT and actually love feet and footwork.
I found a course at Cortiva but it is a three month commitment and the dates available for that course conflict with other things I've got going on. Anyone aware of anything in the Boston area? Thanks!

I have seen some, BUT this (reflexology) is not something you can learn by correspondence.
Has anyone heard of getting certifiedin reflexology, through a correspondance course?
There is a program here for hands on training, but it doesn't have certification.
thanks
Cassie

I am sad to report that my Reflexology school has closed its doors. I am under the impression that there are several students out there still working on their training/certification. Would the members be so kind to list any schools, classes, seminars, workshops, or conferences that you come across here and also on the other Reflexology groups (mine is Wisconsin Reflexologists).
Thank you so much for your help in supporting our fellow Reflexologists. I look forward to your postings. Have a Happy & Blessed New Year!
