I was looking at foam rollers on line today and the prices are all over the place. What is a good price to pay for one? Also what is a good size? Thanks.

I'm a little late to the party on this one, but I love my foam roller! I use it mainly on my IT bands, and I notice a big difference, especially after I've been hiking or rock climbing. Rolling out your back feels wonderful too. I also use mine for stability exercises, so my core is stronger and my back doesn't get a sore.

Also Kristi, you may want to be a judge at the Student Competition.

Hi -

I've been following this interesting thread of discussions regarding Self Care and Body Mechanics.

This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart.

I felt that this would be a good opportunity to share a description of Ariana Institute's Self Care and Body Mechanics CE Class with the group (see below). The CE class is offered as an online class as well as an on-site classroom course. There is a beautiful and informative 21 page Self Care and Body Mechanics notebook that accompanies the course.

Warmly, Ariana Vincent, Ariana Institute

Too bad I missed it...I was thinking of creating something for Self-Care and Body Mechanics for massage therapists!

Hi Kristi You just missed the 2009 in New Braunfels, Texas.
The 2010 Festival will be June 17-21, 2010 will be at Berea College in Berea, KY
Hope you will take advantage of four days eating, lodging and classes all for $442. Only three weeks left for the early bird price.

A couple of MT friends have recommended a foam roller--apparently they're quite good for stretching and self massage. (Plus, they're not too expensive!) Has anyone here had any experience with them? I'm getting mine next week, and my friend is going to show me how to use it. They're supposed to be especially good for a quick self-care session, particularly between clients.

If they're as good as they seem, I may start selling them.
