Lisa - sorry to hear you're going through that. That's rough.

Marilyn - I think there's probably a good chance that you're the coolest Granny ever in the history of granniness.

Wow, Lisa, sorry to hear that your family's been having such a rough time of it. Sounds like you're doing right by them, though.

Marilyn--greatest congratulations to you all. :)

hey everyone. just a quick note here...

things escalated over last weekend with my daughter's mood swings and outbursts of both depression and anger that she has been admitted to a psychiatric facility. That was on Tuesday after a very hard weekend with her. For now it's one day at a time. some days are ok some are incredibly hard. but we will get through eventually.

i have also started my son in counseling for the first time, since it's been very hard on him to watch his sister so full of despair that she cries about wanting to kill herself. the sessions seem to be good for him and he's enjoying having a place where he can chat and play and have for himself.

Keep our family, especially her, in your thoughts and prayers for me. and know that i check in now and then but just don't have the strength to participate these days.

love to all.

Hi Stephen! Missed ya. (Yes~Where's Lisa?) It's been a long time since we've heard from some others too...Trevor? Eeris? Choice? Come to the break room! I'm celebrating new life over here!

Dylan Paul was born yesterday morning and is perfect & healthy. Little Mom is doing well & recovering from a last-minute c-section...labor was progressing nicely, then she stopped dilating & his heart rate dropped suddenly, seems he just wasn't going to fit through the pelvis. 8lb 8.5oz & 20-1/2" of bouncing baby joy ("On a cold & gray Chicago morn another little baby child was born...") and we just can't stop smiling & acting (okay, being) twitterpated. As for becoming a granny, I still can't quite get my head around it, but this is the part where I just get to sit back with a little smile and see how they do it!
I do think some massage lessons are in order, at least I can provide them that...the little guy has a good set of lungs and they live in a condo. That's where I'm staying this week, looking after my Granddog "Bubba" (an English Bulldog--very gorgeous as bulldogs go) and feeling rather cosmopolitan in the big city! If anyone knows a good massage therapist near Skinner Park I sure could use one.

My son-in-law wants his laptop at the hospital (he gets to stay there too) so I will post pix later if I can figure out how. That's what grandparents do, right?

Sounds like the "law of 3" has now been fulfilled--whew! I hope none of us have more tragedies like that in our lives.

Welcome back Mr.J! Glad to hear your "voice" again.

Marilyn- will want details on bouncing baby arrival!

Lisa- Are you doing o.k.?!??! You're awfully quiet. How is going with the search as well as your daughter?
