oddly enough i don't see me being listed on the first page via that search. How is that possible that you see that but I don't?

well today has been more frustrating than anything.

Yes Steve...he found me through massage anytime..which don't even get me started on them. i can't count how many chics are on there in leopard print bras and sexy poses claiming to be LMTs and RMTs. but that's another topic of discussion.

No instead the frustrating part came in the way of the 2nd "client" i got through massage anytime. on the one hand it's working well for me. on the other hand...not so much.

See this 2nd request has come for a guy looking to book an appointment. when i checked out his email address and googled him...it looks as though he works for the zoning board in Wylie. which means i'm being check on as to being able to run a business out of my home. which I don't think i can because of zoning rules. so now I am limited to out calls only.

it's frustrating because even after all is said and done and i'm licensed and certified and OFFICIAL...i still can't practice because now i can't practice out of my home...which means I can only take clients AFTER 3 and at their location. it seems everytime i am on the verge of making a go of this, i get set backs. and now i'm just frustrated.

tomorrow I will have to make time to go visit some local chiro's and see if i can partner with any of them to find a room to work out of. I can't afford to rent space so I am hoping to find a chiro that i can give a percentage of all my session fees and be close enough to home that i can quickly run over there when i have a client.

have i mentioned my frustration?

someone tell me it's all gonna be worth it in the end.

Hi Lisa, glad to see you "out and about"
What I do is pretend to be a client, what would they punch into google ?
Sports massage Wylie TX .......and there you are listed on the first page via massage anytime.com This is probably how he found you.
This is what I do
1/pretend to be a client and punch search words into google.
2/ look at directory sites appearing on first page.
3/ Get you and your website listed with directory (they got all the hard work keeping up with search engine criteria not you!) max spend $150
4/ Wait for the phone calls to roll in.
Works just fine for me. People already learning google map ads not specific enough ie you get a chiro not an MT for search words above so dont be fallin over backwards to get on it !

Speaking of websites.... (as my hubby said, I'm a business whore :) !) Can I add you guys' websites as links on my own? I'm trying to get as many people from around the globe as possible. It will help boost up your google/yahoo rating, making you easier to find in the big bad network world! And I wouldn't complain in the least if you would add mine to yours! ;)

I'm still here Marilyn...thanks for the concern. It has definitely been a somber holiday season for us. with the emotional troubles my daughter is dealing with to financial troubles and being overloaded with work...and NOT massage work, well let's just say I need to buy stock in hair dye. :)

With that said...I AM actually excited for tomorrow when I have my very first client through my web site. It will be interesting to hear how he found me considering I still don't find myself when I google myself. but based on his profession and network capabilities, sounds like he could be a great first client to have.

Marilyn--depends. I don't get paying gigs very often, as it's not something I really go after. Technically, I could spin whenever I want, but I haven't done much since moving to Steamboat; there's no group that meets up here regularly, and I had to stop completely for a year and a half after I broke my arm. We do fire & drum shows up the hot springs when the weather is warmer, and that's a lot of fun.

Thanks for passing along that wisdom, Vlad ~ that's a good mantra for me to remember right now, especially since there seems to be no work where I am.

Too bad about Vail, Erica! Do you get many occasions to perform or is it a seasonal thing? I think you should consider coming to the WMF next June and introducing us to your art!

Eeris--I get it from my acupuncturist. Apparently, it's a very common ointment, so you should be able to find it easily via a 'puncturist.

Heard this one from a client yesterday (I worked my arse off all day): "Don't carry anything into 2010 that prevented you from growing in 2009".
I've been thinking about that one - it's pretty cool.
