This may be covered somewhere in this, so I apologize for bringing it up if it is. How effective can the use of facebook be for marketing your business and drawing in clients. I am starting at a new clinic and need to build some clientele and I am considering using facebook as one tool to help with that! Thanks!

I know some therapists are using it. I have some concerns about confidentiality using facebook. Our laws on privacy are very strict, as they should be

Hi Jeff!

I started using Facebook socially and it grew into a massage marketing technique for me. So much that I wrote a book about it.

Feel free to check it out, here: Massage Marketing Using Facebook

Not to 'toot my own horn,' but I think this e-book is unique in that I give many examples of how to relate to other people on the Internet, or specifically Facebook.

Most really don't know how to do this or communicate very professionally on the Internet. All other 'Facebook Marketing' stuff I've read covers the basics and applications and such, but they never touch on the 'human factor,' which imho is extremely important as a therapist. How to really talk to people so that they trust you enough to get a massage from you.

Hope this helps!

Not to toot Kris's horn, but I got his ebook and it is very good. I agree that the personal side of the biz is lost on a lot of therapists. They think they should be "all biz" with their clients, forgetting that building the personal relationship step by step is as important as learning massage techniques, step by step.

As far as privacy is concerned, on Facebook you have TOTAL control of privacy and confidentiality. If you don't believe it, get Kris's book. Too many FB users don't understand how to tweak their biz or their personal pages to protect themselves...or even know that they can.
Great! Thanks! Hopefully I can afford it one of these days and utilize it!! lol Thanks again!!
Kris's book is soooo worth the money! Don't wait to buy it later, by following his advice, one new customer would more than pay for the e-book.
I already have a personal facebook page and was trying to figure out how to just change it over for my massage practice. After reading his e-book (which I love buying books this way) I will be starting a new facebook page for my business.
I look forward daily to Kris's posts with his thoughts and ideas. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Amy! Unfortunately I will have to wait. As a new practitioner, I am on a budget with insurance and all and, as little as it may seem, $20 at this point is a large cost! Thanks again for the info! I will look forward to being able to get it soon!
Well, it's free, so that's a good start! I use HootSuite to post my events and articles... it is great because it is a portal for many social media sites. You just post in one spot, select your networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare), and hit send. One message in one place sent to five different networking sites!

Don't just stop at Facebook!

Hmmm....somehow I managed to 'unsubscribe' myself from E-mail notices to any and all replies....

Wow, thanks for the kind words!

I've been so busy that I lack the time to contribute to Massage Marketing Solutions on a regular basis. Yes, I'm busy with massage, as this is my busiest time of the year, but I'm working on another project as well ;)

This project, which I can't reveal at this time, is larger than massage or even health and wellness in general. It's huge!

I'll keep everyone updated and reveal what's occurring when I can!

Kris
It really depends on your target market. Are they on Facebook? Are they in your friends network?
Take out an ad in your local media mentioning your clinic is on facebook. Whatever you name your clinic also set it up as a facebook group.
Good luck. A new spa salon in my area is here on facebook and advertisize their biz name as www.studioonefiftyseven.com
