Is curious…how many massage therapists seek out the higher income people in your area as massage clients?  If so, I’ve just found a valuable tool used to contact them.  Let’s continue on, below…

What did I find?  The Clark County, Nevada Assessor Maps!  This is public record information.  If you are looking to attract more clients perform a quick Google search for the County you live in and see if this info is available on-line.  Here in Clark County if I click on a location it gives me detailed info in regards to that home-owner.  Why is this important?

First, let me back up and tell you what I’m doing.  This new target market I’m looking at is golfers.  I’m fortunate to live in an area of Las Vegas which has several high-end golf courses near-by.  Most are gated communities that the general public doesn’t have access to with thousands of homes.  No worries….now I’ve got the solution!

Ok, back to the important information.  Why seek out wealthy clients?  They have disposable income for massage.  Why golfers?  Massage can assist them.  Sure, there’s a high-end spa in every country club.  Pppfffft.  That won’t stop me!  I perform outcall massage!  One USP of mine:  The Luxury of a Spa Experience In the Comfort and Convenience of Your Home!  See how this works?

Back to this public information page.  These pages have so much information about each home-owner it’s almost scary.  A couple of key points here:  First, I get their mailing info so I can provide them with some exciting personalized information.  Second, I can see the value of their home.  I’ll be going after the million dollar homes around the lakes first, which there are hundreds of!

There’s so much more I can ramble on about here, but it’s not the point.  The point is, if you’ve ever tried to get in front of the rich and shameless, now’s your chance!  Now, I don’t know who holds the public records where you live, but I’d find out quick, as well as seeing if it’s on-line.  Perhaps call the County you live in if you can’t find ‘m on the web and ask them.  Perhaps it’s the town, county, city or state that holds this information.  I’ll even go so far as to say that if this information is not available on-line, I’d head on down to the record keeping office and perform a manual search.

I’m huge on mailers and this is right up my alley.  Is the ROI low at times?  Sure.  Yet, how many ‘calls’ do we need to break-even?  I’m all about referrals and word-of-mouth business building, so if I can get my foot in the door with some ‘well-to-do’ folks, it’s going to be great!

Not looking for golfers?  That’s fine.  I’m sure where you live there’s an exclusive community that is shielded away from the general public somewhere.  This method can assist in you getting your foot in the door.  I like to go after a specific target market like golfers as it makes my mailer and message have more impact, thus, more likely to schedule with me.  Are you an outcall therapist who just wants to go after a big private upscale community?  Ok.  Really emphasize the benefits of receiving massage in the comfort and convenience of their own home.  Saves them time, gas, traffic, etc., etc.

Is there anyone interested in this?  I’d like some feedback on if this information is available on-line in smaller communities, as Las Vegas is getting a bit large and a progressive city.

Whatcha think??

Can't believe there hasn't been a comment! I haven't been in business long, less than a year, and I find myself targeting my friends and old coworkers, those are the people I know. Unfortunately, many of them are recreating themselves due to the recession. So in reality, my target group is probably the least likely to "splurge" on a massage. I'm trying to educate them as to the benefits of bodywork but Rockford, Il is a conservative town. Thanks to you, Kris, I now have an opportunity to advance myself in the areas where people have the resources to schedule massages.
Kris, this is a great idea! Also helpful might be "reverse" telephone books, where the marketer can seek out the name of the prospective client by address. In the case of golfers, for instance, (at least in the eastern part of the country) many high end homes exist on or very near to golf courses and country clubs. I suppose one would need to do some "leg work" for actual street names. I do house calls to homes in these areas and the clients love the convenience!
