I always play music in my office, even if it's just me doing paperwork.
Thanks for asking,Emma
I have several of the CD's by Evenson I just discovered as well. I buy CDs a lot of times without realizing that they are all by the same company. I have Healing Waters and Tao of Healing. I gravitate towards Celtic music and music with water and ocean sounds in the background. Very relaxing. I too try to mix my own CDs. I will purchase 2-3 CD's with similar type music and then pick all my favorite tracks and then mush them together on a blank CD. To save money, I first find the CDs I like online. I then go over to www.amazon.com to see if the same CD is being sold on there. I buy them used most of the time for pennies on the dollar. I have never received a bad CD this way and most come in the wrapper. The most I spend now on a new CD is $6. Next year I would like to make the transition to using an IPOD and a speaker dock system. That way I can create play lists and take the IPOD with me on outcalls and not have to worry about CD's getting scratched up or old. I would like to find more music with ocean sounds in the background. I also love music that has an almost magical feel to it.

For four years, my main massage music came from.... Wal~Mart! It was called "Dream Sleep". I found it perfect for my massage.
I have the ipod and dock. It saves so much space cause you don't have to lug a book of cd's and a player. And the sound is unbelievable. I don't personally use music that has sounds like waves and birds, etc. I prefer instrumental music, preferably piano. Kevin Kern, Ann Sweeten, Vicki Emerson come to mind. Sometimes I'll throw in a little jazz by Keiko Matsui. I might add Jim Brickman's instrumentals. I like Joshua Bell for classical violin and Yo Yo Ma for his wonderful music.

Having said that, I work once a week in a private company's employee gym. They have awesome equipment, a physical trainer and me. Their sound system is tops. They play everything, from classic rock to 80's hair bands. For the environment, it's perfect. And I don't mind the change once a week.
Nothing wrong with Walmart! LOL I have CDs from there and Bed Bath and Beyond. Whatever works, works. You never know where you might find the absolutely perfect CD...

Hmmm. I like piano and instrumentals too so I'll check out some of the ones you listed the next music hunt I go on. I wish there was a way for us to upload tunes on here somehow.

Marina Raye's cd , Keepers of the light, is my new favorite!
Massage Nerd just sent me these samples! http://massagenerd.com/_massage_merchandise_music.html
The CD I am using right now is ECHOES OF THE SOUL by Paul Zimmer. It is soft sounds of the Flute.I found this at the Fairhope, AL Arts and Crfts Festival this year. it is really nice. I also change out with a CD by Carly Farley called UNWIND. It is Guitar music and very nice as well.
I like to set up playlists that are at least three hours long on my iPod. That way there is no clatter from the CD changing or re-starting.

Some of my favorite instrumental music is called "Lifescapes" and is sold at Target. They have a kiosk where you can hear samples of the different CDs. I personally like "Relaxing Piano", "Relaxing Harp", and "Duets: Flute and Harp".

Some of my other instrumental favorites are "Garden of Peace: Music for Reflection" produced by Rivercrest and "@ Peace: Music from Big Sur" by Michael Benghiat.

A favorite artist is R. Carlos Nakai, who plays simple but beautiful melodies on a native American wood flute. His music will carry your client's minds away to drift over a warm, sunny dessert. I think his best CDs are "Canyon Trilogy" and "Inner Voices".

J.S. Bach's "Brandenburg Concertos" are wonderful for massage. Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" is also good, but it may be a little too up temp for some people. Both are performed by string orchestras and have a steady tempo and volume that works well for massage, and they're an enjoyable change when the usual massage music gets too boring.

And one final suggestion is "Bones" by Gabrielle Roth & the Mirrors. It is nothing but drums, which you wouldn't think would be relaxing. But it's another CD that helps your client's mind drift away.

Something I ran across since 2010: Rockabye Baby CDs. They sell classic rock music rendered as lullabies.

The aren't for everyone, but it tickles my sense of humor to hear Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, the Eagles and others rendered as children's lullabies.
