For four years, my main massage music came from.... Wal~Mart! It was called "Dream Sleep". I found it perfect for my massage.
I have the ipod and dock. It saves so much space cause you don't have to lug a book of cd's and a player. And the sound is unbelievable. I don't personally use music that has sounds like waves and birds, etc. I prefer instrumental music, preferably piano. Kevin Kern, Ann Sweeten, Vicki Emerson come to mind. Sometimes I'll throw in a little jazz by Keiko Matsui. I might add Jim Brickman's instrumentals. I like Joshua Bell for classical violin and Yo Yo Ma for his wonderful music.
Having said that, I work once a week in a private company's employee gym. They have awesome equipment, a physical trainer and me. Their sound system is tops. They play everything, from classic rock to 80's hair bands. For the environment, it's perfect. And I don't mind the change once a week.
Something I ran across since 2010: Rockabye Baby CDs. They sell classic rock music rendered as lullabies.
The aren't for everyone, but it tickles my sense of humor to hear Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, the Eagles and others rendered as children's lullabies.
