So, I originally lost about 80 pounds. Then over the last year, I got lazy. No sugar coating this. LAZY! I literally stopped everything all at the same time. Exercising, watching what I eat, drinking enough water....EVERYTHING! Now you would think that a person who got control wouldn't lose it, correct? Wrong. The sad part is there was no "trigger". I just got lazy. So, here I go again. I'm going to use this as my personal log. Each day I plan on blogging what I ate, how I exercised, how I feel, and at the end of each week I'll post my loss or gain. I played with this for awhile on here, but now I have the "bug" and will actually do it. My doctor told me at my last physical that if I got to 170lbs. I would be at my "ideal weight". I'm going to give it my best! Please feel free to comment or just enjoy the ride. And if you feel inspired..... there's an "Add Discussion" box right below. :)

Good for you! I've got a similar plan in place. Good luck.
Well here comes another New Years Day and another chance to make the resolution to lose weight. Frankly I have been there and done that over and over, and I am tired of it. I have lost and gained a whole lot of weight over and over again. Not healthy nor is it condusive to peace of mind. What I really want to to do this year instead of making more breakable resolutions is to learn to love and accept myself as I am right now. I am not at my ideal weight yet but that's OK. I am still a good person and I still am a valuable asset to society. I am tired of beating myself over the head over and over about my weight. I am also tired of waiting to enjoy my life until I lose 30 pounds. I want to enjoy it right now!

I will do some things to change my eating habits and I will try and exercise more. I will give it my best. And my best is good enough. Good luck to all!
good for you I feel the same way I just got lazy and know I have started to go back to watching how much I eat and I have started to exercise a little. So I hope you and everyone on here has a great new year and can accomplish what they set out to do. Peace to all.
Captains Log: Day 1 :)

The day started out very sadly due to the fact that I forced myself to get on the scale. In my laziness, I have put on 25lbs. of unwanted flubbber. I'm also blaming Thanksgiving and Christmas! :)

Breakfast: 2 cups of coffee w/ FF creamer, 3/4c. cereal w/ 1/2c. 2% milk
Lunch: spinach salad w/ Light Sun-Dried Tomato dressing, 1c. tomato soup
Snack: 1 oz pecans
Dinner: 2 slices pizza ( I know, I know! It was a celebration of my last day as an IC)
Water: 128oz. I can't stop running to the loo!

Exercise: Chest/Back/Abs.... Nothing but push ups, pull ups, and hella abs. I pushed myself, but didn't kill myself. I'll be feeling it tomorrow.

Notes: I need to hit the grocery store to stock back up on fresh fruits and veggies.
Day 2

I woke up in agony! I mean, screaming pain in my biceps, pecs, abs, QLs..... That's what I get for "pushing myself", but not "killing myself". Must have pushed too hard.

Breakfast: coffee w/ FF creamer (bad!)
Lunch: roast beef sandwich
Snack: none
Dinner: Turkey sandwich w/ the works on multi-grain
Water: 64 ounces

Exercise: running around like a lunatic after my 4 year old and 2 massages

Notes: Went to the grocery store, loaded up on fresh goods. I let my schedule dictate my food, water, and exercise routine today. This is what got me in trouble. Tomorrow is another day! I refuse to beat myself up.
Day 3

I have still been achy all day from Monday's work out. Somewhat surprised, but not all that much.

Breakfast: coffee w/ FF creamer, I cup Cheerios w/ 2% milk, banana
Lunch: Salad, 1/2 turkey w/ works sandwich
Snack: handful of choc. covered almonds
Dinner: 2 homemade chicken breast tacos w/ lettuce, tom, onion
Water: 96 ounces

Exercise: Shoulders/Arms Think: Bis, Tris, shoulder girdle.....a full hour. I really wanted to do the abs, but they are still soooooooooooooo sore. I told my husband that even my fat hurts. He claims it's because "It knows it's dying". I like it.

Notes: The first week is the hardest. I have to get through 2 and I'll be fine! Nervous about tomorrow, have a 9-5er with plans for dinner and New Year's Eve. I'll try to fit in a work out, but I don't know if it will happen.
Day 4,5,6,7

As I feared, I was unable to work out yesterday. And I am going to just go ahead and put the next few days on here as well. I am swamped with work (yeah me!) and then swamped with family/friend plans through the rest of the weekend. Yes, I worked all New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Saturday is no better and Sunday is always my day of rest. I see why people usually wait until after the 1st of the year to start these changes. All I can say is, I got my feet wet. Monday is a new day and thankfully, there are no holidays to interfere for some time! Stay posted...
Day 8

Wow, what a doozy. I just started P90X torture again. A 90 day boot camp that whips your butt into shape. I'm doing the "lean" version to knock off as much fat in as short a time as possible. Today that meant doing 60 minutes of Core Synergistics. I got through 35 minutes and a cool-down. I think I died a little. I simply had to stop, because I was on the verge of throwing up. When I get further along in the program I'll be saying, "You know you had a great work out when you feel like throwing up!". I'm not there yet. I was there last winter and expect to be there again soon. When I'm that stupid again, I'l be sure to let you know. I'll post my food journal this evening.
Day 9

Good grief! This is harder to do than I remember! Trying to balance everything going on is getting crazy. Sum it up: twinged my back yesterday, but ate well. Today, unable to exercise due to work and secondly to back. Plus, with all the running around, I ate like crap. I'm not happy with myself. My body is over-riding my brain telling me that I'm not ready for the boot camp. As an MT, I think I should probably listen to my body. I set up to private Pilates sessions for next week. I'm looking forward to them!

Notes: Eat better tomorrow! Either do Yoga or elliptical. No negotiations!
Day 10

My adductors are screaming in pain. I guess I was unaware of them due to being so aware of my back. They made themselves known today! Yoga was good. I feel all jello-like after that 90 minute session. Can't wait to try Pilates next week!

Breakfast: multi-grain cereal w/ 2% milk, banana, coffee w/ FF creamer
Lunch: mixed green salad w/ lt. Italian dressing
Dinner: turkey sandwich w/ the works
Water: 96 ounces

Note: day by day
Rick- I know. I've been having trouble getting back in to the swing of things. Each day I'm trying to incorporate one more healthy habit. If I go for the gold all at the same time, I burn out and quit. Not an option. Adding protein was my issue the first go round. Finding ways to kick more in there is a mean feat for me. Although the multi-grain cereal did have almonds, I forgot to mention!

excuse me for commenting marissa...

this does not look like enough food, certainly not enough protein to maintain health so please be careful ok?

Day 11

Today was another very busy day. I didn't get a workout in. Tomorrow's not looking good either. Great for the work schedule, not so happy for the work out schedule.

Breakfast: mini whole wheat bagel w/ cream cheese, coffee w/ FF creamer
Snack: none
Lunch: turkey sandwich w/ lettuce and tomato no mayo, mixed fruit
Snack: yogurt mixed w/ granola and strawberries
Dinner: homemade seafood alfredo over linguine (YIKES)
Water: 96 ounces

Notes: My hubby and I were craving the seafood alfredo. It just would not go away, so I made it at home. Much better than take-out though!
