Art Riggs's Page

Art Riggs has a meandering academic background in psychology, graduate work in literature, and later, in exercise physiology at UC Berkeley. Luckily, he escaped academia relatively intact, became enthralled with bodywork, and was certified by the Rolf Institute in 1987. He teaches Deep Tissue massage, Myofascial Release and Rolf workshops in the US and abroad. He also maintains a private bodywork practice in Oakland.
Art is the author of the textbook, "Deep Tissue Massage: a Visual Guide to Techniques" which has been translated into seven languages and the acclaimed seven volume DVD series, "Deep Tissue Massage and Myofascial Release: A Video Guide to Techniques".
