Hau'oli nui au! reading your message brings the feel of Hawaii to me right here.
I have carefully studied Karen's website several times in the past couple of years, and have tried to attend her classes a couple of times. So far the scheduling hasn't worked out. When I listen to her voice on her website video I can tell in an instant that I would fully enjoy and benefit from studying from her!!! It's not just what she says, but the Hawaiian softness in her voice.
My lomi path of the past 7 years has been with Kumu Maka'ala Yates, D.C. I love being alligned with him!!! the Mana Lomi® he developed drawing on his 16 year apprenticeship with Aunty Margaret is both clinically focused and spiritually grounded. It's problem solving work which pays special attention to bones and breath. You can read more on my website www.lomilomi-massage.org and on Kumu Maka'ala's website www.manalomi.com.
I was born in Newtown, PA, not far from Blue Bell. I lived there until I was 5 and then again for my senior year in highschool (1972-73). My father's family is from PA. I hope to teach a Mana Lomi® workshop there sometime in the next few years.
