The style is certainly interesting. And I think it would be good to get a class in it before you go "down under" ;-) nice life change plan. Mine is to move into more teaching over the next 5 years so I can remain in massage and travel as the body ages.
I mentioned Lomi because it is in slightly different forms throughout Polynesia & Indonesia. Foot work while not dominant is a part of it. By sitting and using the foot it seems to allow for an old massage therapist to stay active professionally. I do mat work at my massage clinic so it could be included. The videos on youtube show very good work. I already use feet in Korean Martial Therapy on the mat.
Is Kansas City the closest classes get to Los Angeles?

Welcome to the site. I hope you will post information on Fijian Massage. It sounds interesting and doing foot work is always good.
Could you tell me how Fijian massage differs from Hawaiian Lomi Lomi?
