If anyone is interested in next year's competition, the guidelines for this year's competition is still available on the MTF site and gives some well documented advice on how to go about doing one.

Also, there is an article in this month's IJTMB that is a great example of a well run case study (IMHO).

The new edition (Making Sense of Research - make sure it's the second edition since it has added chapters) of Martha Brown Menard's book also has a chapter devoted to case reports. She has also added a chapter on statistics in her new edition, which is very good.
