Recently went into effect the massage license in Puerto Rico. The cost of the license was $ 250 and adding all documents necessary expenses amounted to almost $ 600. How different is the cost of the license outside of Puerto Rico? How much did you pay for the cost of license?

And a Taxi Medallion in NYC goes for over $100K.
It's not outrageous to pay $600 for a business license, but if you think it is too much, remember who is in favor of greater governtment regulation / bureaucracy the next time you vote.
In Massachusetts it's $225 the first time, and $150 to renew, which has to be done every single year.
In California I pay $150 for state certification for two years. In Los Angeles there is no fee for the business tax permit if income is under $100,000/year. I also belong to ABMP adding another $309/year including Property Insurance.
I believe governments have a responsibility to keep down the fee cost and limit restrictions to allow people of all economic background to conduct business while encouraging professionalism. In my opinion PRs cost of $600 is prohibitive and not a reflection of the cost of administering.
True. If they add the NCB exam, that $175 plus about $200 for insurance brings the initial cost to $600.
Yeah, remember that when all these Federal funds going to States are cut by Republicans, States will have to get their money somewhere...local and state fees/taxes will by necessity increase.
We don't really want to get into an argument about politics, do we? We are all massage therapists, and politics raises everyone's tension level.
Let's just agree that politicians are a breed apart from the rest of us-- Dem or Rep, whatever they promise before election, after they move into power, they'll do the bidding of the Big Money that funded them. About $4-$6 billion will be spent in the presidential race, and corporations don't donate, they invest.
