Hi Kris. From my own perspective, I would say ABSOLUTELY NOT! But each person has a different idea of what stress in. What some would consider an interesting challenge might seem stressful to the next person.
We do need challenges in our lives if we want to move forward. Some people have a higher tolerance than others
Personally, I have found massage therapy a wonderful, stress-free profession. I enjoy what I do, and I love working with my clients. There is great satisfaction in being able to help people, and see them leave the clinic feeling much better than when they came in. People are in a good mood when they come for a massage so I am always dealing with pleasant people (unlike the poor dentists who are always dealing with patients who are afraid, stressed and wish they weren't there)
I am in my 26th year of practice and yes, I am successful, so my personal answer is that stress is not a necessary part of success.
