Robert Chute's Blog (13)

Bowing out and saying goodbye

If you've been reading the back page column at Massage & Bodywork for the last three years, that's been me writing that stuff. My Practitioner Parables column has been fun to write and I've been very pleased with the feedback we've received from readers.

If you read as far as the author tag on the bottom of the page, you'll know I'm going on a sabbatical of sorts. Officially, at the end of this month (just over a week now!) I'll be designated in the non-active member category by…

Update on me

Just FYI: In addition to my writing blog, I also have a shop at Cafe Press where there are a couple things for massage therapists for sale.

Have a great day, or make it one!

Contests and prizes on my other blog

Readers of my M&B column often ask where else they can read my work. If you're interested, I update my blog at www.chazzwrites.wordpress.com five days a week, Monday to Friday. Just some of the features this week include Cool Word of the Day, publicity and promotion, book reviews, networking advice and finding the right ending for a short story. It's a lot fo fun.

I have three contests going on…

The digital version of Massage & Bodywork is out. Hurray!

Check out my column "Practitioner Parables" on the back page. It's called Massage School Follies. One of my favorites.

Thanks!

I'm on Twitter and all a twitter

Also find me on Twitter @RChazzChute.

My God, it's fun. And by "God" I mean, of course, Zeus. You know what's fascinating? I follow a bunch of celebrities and it's always interesting to see who they follow. For instance, Stephen Hawking and Richard Dawkins? Both crazy Weird Al Yankovic fans. Who knew?

Update on my whereabouts: Coming to Victoria!

Anybody in Victoria BC on June 24 can see me rocking the open mic at the Canwrite wrier's conference. I'll be reading a short story and drinking my second beer.

Also, for the writers among us (I know there are a bunch here) see my new (funny funny funny) post at http://ning.it/btkpbV

The thing I forgot to tell you

Yesterday I told you about my new website www.chazzwrites.wordpress.com in which I talk about all things writing. It's a lot of fun. For even more fun (because it's not at all serious) please feel free to follow me on Twitter. Look for me @RChazzChute.

I use…

New website

I know there are writers who walk among us so I thought I'd post this. I have a new website for people interested in books, writing, publishing issues and editorial problems. If you want to check it out, go to www.chazzwrites.wordpress.com.
My M&B column is where the bodyworker hangs out. At Chazz Writes, I am the evil twin.

Happy 2010 everyone

I'm looking forward to making some substantive changes in my life (including the possibility of going back to school!) Some things are coming together and it will be interesting to see how the new year unfolds. I'm uncharacteristically optimistic about what's to come. It's a strange new feeling.

I hope you can find optimism wherever you are and wherever you're at.

Excelsior!

More and More Regulation WILL GO THROUGH

You know why? Because there's no organized group opposing it. It's like herding cats or getting atheists to come to a meeting. There's no Leave Us the Hell Alone Group. That's why one day you'll wake up and if you get a traffic ticket you'll have to notify your massage regulatory college.

That's an outrageous and absurd claim of course. Except it's already the law in Ontario.

Stay free as long as you can friends.

Back with a vengeance

I just returned from an expedition to Nova Scotia.

It's still there.

Dad's 83 now and exercising every day.

Hey! That's a good idea!

Hearing your suggestions

I often write articles for Massage & Bodywork and I also write the back page column (Practitioner Parables.) I've brainstormed a bunch of ideas for future columns but I'd also be interested in hearing your suggestions here. Is there a topic you'd like me to address through the column? Is there an issue or aspect of politics or practice that you feel needs to be explored?

What topic would you like to read about and what are your thoughts and… Continue
