About Me

I work in darkness and oils. I write features for Massage & Bodywork Magazine often and you'll find my regular column on the back page. I'm the token Canadian.

I am filled with rage which I sublimate with humor and trigger points. I fear for the future of our profession.

Just got a missive from the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. They have branding tools they want us to use and a messagevfrom the "corporate services dept."
Depressing corporatization. Not the spirit I signed up for.

Bowing out and saying goodbye

If you've been reading the back page column at Massage & Bodywork for the last three years, that's been me writing that stuff. My Practitioner Parables column has been fun to write and I've been very pleased with the feedback we've received from readers.

If you read as far as the author tag on the bottom of the page, you'll know I'm going on a sabbatical of sorts. Officially, at the end of this month (just over a week now!) I'll be designated in the non-active member category by…

Just FYI: In addition to my writing blog, I also have a shop at Cafe Press where there are a couple things for massage therapists for sale.

Have a great day, or make it one!

Contests and prizes on my other blog

Readers of my M&B column often ask where else they can read my work. If you're interested, I update my blog at five days a week, Monday to Friday. Just some of the features this week include Cool Word of the Day, publicity and promotion, book reviews, networking advice and finding the right ending for a short story. It's a lot fo fun.

I have three contests going on…

The digital version of Massage & Bodywork is out. Hurray!

Check out my column "Practitioner Parables" on the back page. It's called Massage School Follies. One of my favorites.
