massage and bodywork professionals

a community of practitioners

If you've been reading the back page column at Massage & Bodywork for the last three years, that's been me writing that stuff. My Practitioner Parables column has been fun to write and I've been very pleased with the feedback we've received from readers.

If you read as far as the author tag on the bottom of the page, you'll know I'm going on a sabbatical of sorts. Officially, at the end of this month (just over a week now!) I'll be designated in the non-active member category by The Powers That Be. It's a shame I have to choose, but the choices were retirement, non-active or full-time and I'm in the process of launching a publishing company so I had to choose. After almost 20 years beside the table, it was time for a break and some exploration. My ebooks launch in November.

I very much appreciate all the kind email I've been getting. Thanks for the nice words, and no, there's no cause for concern. I'm fine. Just doing something different and doing some reevaluation.

To those wondering when I'll be back, I can't say because I don't know. I seem to be addicted to getting into risky ventures. Massage has certainly been the longest job I've ever kept, but I'm not sure I want it to be the last.

Anyway, thanks again. If you're curious what's up, you can find me and my books at www.allthatchazz.com. I've been writing for myself for a long time, so several novels are coming in the near future. You can send email to expartepress@gmail.com.

Bye for now!

Rob

Guess I'll have to start reading the magazine from the front to the back like a normal person now. Good luck on the new leg of your journey!

Thanks, Stephen. Just a few days to go now. It's a strange transition and a big risk. However, no guts, no glory and all that narcissistic, macho BS. :)
