Using Facebook Ads to Increase Your Clientele

What are Facebook Ads?

You've heard of Facebook ads. I can guarantee you can see some right now on the right side of this page.

Did you know that Facebook Ads are targeted to you? Every ad you see is because you belong to a group, page or have something in your profile that the creators of the ad are targeting.

As an example:

Here are three ads that I see right now.

Procrastination

HI everyone. Im curious to know if anyone, like me, experiences periods of procrastination. Particularly when it comes to the business side of massage. I know that I will have book work to do, or client information to update on my database, but sometimes I just get a bit distracted. I do find that writing daily lists helps me to stay on track.
Id love to hear other people's experiences and/or advise on staying focused and avoiding procrastination.

The Afterglow

Does anyone else experience this. You work on a new or beloved regular client and have a particularly great session. You know what I mean? The energy transfer is so free flowing. It is hard to delineate where your contact ends and they begin? It is transcendent and the music is flowing and the aromatherapy is perfect. Then the session is over. You meet them in the outer office and offer water and the usual good bye routine. It is almost awkward. Like running into an old boyfriend. The… Continue

Points for Profit - and Practice Building

I saw a 75 minute power point presentation on Friday evening by Honora

Lee Wolfe - she is the author of a book called "Points for Profit" -

the presentation was geared to acupuncture students and how they can

begin to market their practice BEFORE finishing school. I'm quite a

ways away from finishing my Masters at SWAC, however I am actively

running my massage therapy practice (for over 22 years!) and found

tidbits that she presented to be very applicable - and… Continue

Making Health Care Better

I came across a NY Times article on Making Health Care Better that is worth the read. It provides a good example of using competency management to improve patient outcomes in specific areas of practice--a concept we good well adapt to the inclusion of massage therapy within health care. It also points out the process of self-reflection currently being done in multiple areas of… Continue

Richmond Massage Therapy and the Richmond Marathon

The 2009 Richmond Marathon was yesterday, Saturday November 14, 2009. This marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon, so Richmond sees many marathoners who are from all over the United States. Richmond Massage Therapy was on hand yesterday, providing post-event Sports Massage and Isometric Stretching to marathoners who wanted it. We worked on many participants and… Continue

The Financial Health of Our Organizations: FSMTB

This is the second in my series on the financial health of the non-profit massage therapy associations.

What a difference a year has made to the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards. In the 2007 fiscal year, the FSMTB’s Form 990 showed gross receipts of just over $43,000. The 2008 shows those revenues as exceeding $355,000. Looks like it was a good year, and the expectation is that income will continue to grow as more boards join (there are currently 33) and more students take… Continue
